Insulin users’ syringes are designed for standard U-100 insulin. The dilution of insulin should make 1 ml of insulin solution have 100 standard "units" of insulin. Since insulin bottles are usually 10 ml, each bottle has 1,000 units.
Insulin syringes are specially made for self-injection and have friendly functions:
• Shorter needles, because insulin injections are injected subcutaneously (under the skin) rather than intramuscularly
• Thinner needles ease the pain
• Marked with insulin units to simplify drawing the measured dose of insulin.
• Low dead space, reducing complications caused by incorrect drawing sequence of different insulin intensities.
